Taiwan Beauty products Yay or Nay

Hello there!

It’s May already and that means that almost half a year has gone. I would say that I have accomplished much in 2017. I learnt how to be stronger, better, and definitely to step out of my comfort zone to explore new things that I had never dreamt of. So many thoughts in my mind right now but I would leave that in my next #thought post.

Today I’m sharing with you some beauty products from Taiwan.

  1. Cleopatra VII Pilopator mask
  2. DD Cream by Userism
  3. Brush by LAMSAMYICK

Cleopatra VII Pilopator mask

I was intrigued by the packaging and just had the urge to google a little more about who this Cleopatra VII is. Apparently she was an ancient beauty and I had a little history lesson after learning about her rise and fall.

I tried them on in the morning before going out and I could feel that my skin is still soft at the end of the day.  So I would highly recommend this for women out there with really dry skin. So I would say Yay to this Cleopatra VII Pilopator mask from All Belle, Taiwan as it is more moisturizing than normal masks that I have tried and the moisture could last me an entire day out.

Brush by LAMSAMYICK

Some masks do not come with any mask sheets so I thank God for this mask brush that helps me to easily apply them onto my face without dirtying my hands. It is really soft and it is easily washable. I love the sleek design and how it is small and I can easily bring this on my travel. So yay to this product as well. But that being said, although I love everything about this, I think most of the masks I have purchased, maybe 8/10 of them comes with mask sheets nowadays, so I would question its practicality sometimes. So this product may be a nay to some if you are tight on budget?

DD Cream by Userism

Although this DD it is liquid form, it gives a matte finish. Hence, you don’t have to worry about having an oily glow on your face. For some of you who do not know, DD cream stands for Daily Defense cream. So DD cream also acts as a physical sunscreen. I like this DD cream because it is sweat resistant so it is very suitable for application during summer or in tropical weathers like Singapore. So Yay to this product!

I found a remedy for my chapped lips

Hello everyone!

It’s been a while since I last blogged and today I am going to share with you my remedy to my chapped lips.

I must admit that I am guilty of not drinking enough water (the suggested 8 glasses of water per day), which is one of the contributing factor to having chapped lips.

Sometimes I would shove this problem aside, other times, I would try to lick my lips to make them feel moisturized. But each time I do that, it made my lips feel even more dry than before.

So recently I tried the Himalaya Lip Care and I am in love with these 4 scents that I have gotten!

You can check out the video below to see the swatches and my review of these lip balms.

Pros:

  • Affordable
  • Nice scent
  • Nice to glide on
  • Super moisturizing

Cons:

  • No SPF

In conclusion, I really love the scent from the Lip balm. It is a pity that they do not have any SPF. If they have this, it would have been perfect!

I would definitely recommend this product to everyone with chapped lips because I find them really moisturizing and the scent is awesome too! Tell me how do you find the lip balm after applying and I would love to hear from you!

I didn’t know that I was neglecting my skin health until…

Hello there!

Today I’m sharing a little insight into my skin health. Recently because of my work, I had to stay up late at night, sometimes surviving only on less than 6 hours of sleep before the next cycle comes again.

This really took a toll on my skin health. I could see dark eye circles slowly emerging and my skin became very listless and dull.

I didn’t know that I was neglecting my skin health until I realise that I could no longer go out of my house with my bare face.

My usual makeup routine could no longer support “this kind of lifestyle” that I was having. That’s when I realise that I desperately need a foundation and concealer that is more hydrating and one that can brighten up my skin so that I’m ready to hit the street with that makeup on.

I found this Bourjois Healthy Mix Anti-Fatigue Foundation at the local drugstore, Watsons.

File_000 (14)

I am using the lightest shade, shade 51, light vanilla. This is a liquid foundation and it leaves a nice semi-matte finish when applied. I really like how it brightens up my face, leaving a healthy-looking complexion with that radiant glow. This foundation is super light weight and I totally didn’t feel like I had any makeup on when I applied it on my face.

The foundation states that it could last up till 16 hours of coverage, I would safely say that it lasted for at least 10 hours for me.

Before and after

The results are very visible. You can see that my skin is brighter and more radiant in the second picture.

I also found this Healthy Mix Anti-Fatigue Concealer. I am using the lightest shade, shade 51, light as well. I like how it is easy to use because of the applicator and how the concealer glides easily on my face, leaving a smooth silky finish. And because of the light-reflecting pigments, it leaves a a flawless and undetectable finish. The concealer was able to cover up not only my dark eye circles but also my acne marks/scars.

Before and after

Not sure if you can see from the photos, but it blends really well with my skin.

I am really pleased with what I have found and I hope that this solves your problem as well if you have dull and listless looking skin like me!

They are really affordable and value for money.

The foundation is available in 6 shades, ranging from:

51 Light Vanilla

52 Vanilla

53 Light Beige

54 Beige

55 Dark Beige

56 Light Bronze

And it is only selling @ $29.90 (30ml each)

There are 3 radiant shades for their concealer:

51 Light

52 Medium

53 Dark

And they are selling @ $17.50 (7.5ml)

These products are available at all major Watsons and departmental stores. Do check them out and share with me if it works well for you!

I have also done a no makeup, makeup look using these 2 products to show you how I would do my everyday makeup and the vast difference before and after applying Bourjois foundation and concealer.

Don’t forget to like or share this post to your loved ones who needs some help with their skin!

Smooth skin secrets with Beauty Keeper

Beauty Keeper

Recently, I received a whole big box of beauty products from the Beauty Keeper and I am SO in love with them!

a

I’m gonna show you some of great products I have used thus far!

1. Mdmmd Upra® Age Delay Revive Toner

d.PNG

If you love to watch korean dramas like me, I sure you would often think about why the koreans look so much younger than their actual age!

And of course it boils down to their skincare routine. I found out that the toner you use for your face is actually very important because it does not only prepare you for your next skincare routine, it also helps to balance your skin’s pH level.

This toner that I have recently tried is THE BEST. After applying for close to 2 weeks consecutively, I could see that an obvious improvement in my skin’s radiance and tone. It doesn’t look as dull as before before makeup. I have also tried it on my mum and I could see a very obvious change in her skin. My mum has fine lines on her forehead which is quite obvious when she doesn’t apply any moisturiser on her face but after adding this step into her daily skincare routine, there were lesser fine fines than before and the skin looks brighter as well! So I am pretty satisfied and amazed by the result thus far!

This product is also largely advertised by the Taiwan celebrities as a skincare product not to be missed.

2. Crisstar Hydrationist Energy Aqua Essential Gel

FullSizeRender.jpg

The second product that I have tried thus far is the Crisstar Hydrationist Energy Aqua Essential Gel. Personally, if you realise, I like to go for skincare products that helps to hydrate my skin because by keeping a hydrated skin, it prevents the formation of fine lines and premature ageing of skin. This next product I have tried not only helps to keep my skin moisturised, it also contains Glycosyl trehalose which helps to to whiten and prevent premature ageing of skin.

I would usually apply this gel after my tonner and the last I checked, it was able to keep my skin moisturised for up till roughly 8 hours. If I had to be indoor the whole day with air-con, I would top it up with my Bioderma dermatological water.

All these aforementioned product, you can purchase them from Beauty Keeper:

CRISSTAR Hydrationist Energy Aqua Essential Gel: http://www.beauty-keeper.com/shop_detail_page.php?category_id=13&product_id=5

The Beauty Keeper has a range of beauty products from Taiwan and all of these products are mostly the top sellers and products that are very well received. So you can’t go wrong with these products!

A good skincare product is important but starting a skincare routine when you are still young is even more important! So start a skincare regime now if you have not started!

Share with me your thoughts and keep me updated with if have tried these products!

How I cured my acne in just 2 months

Journey through my acne

**Warning**, the images below may cause you to puke your breakfast/lunch/dinner out or maybe all 3. So please view it at your own discretion.

I wouldn’t say I had a flawless face to begin with, probably just a pink spot or 2 before period that kind of thing.

img_4921
This was how I used to look like with no make up before I had acne.

Then I found out there are was an increase in the number of whiteheads. It started with 1, then 2. And because it was super obvious, cause it bulges out, with my itchy hands, I used my fingers to squeeze it! Never did I know, IT MULTIPLIED and SPREAD to the neighbouring parts…

This was how I looked like on 15th April 2016 (which was just a while ago).

It was the most serious acne breakout I had ever gotten thus far.

And as a woman I felt that my self-esteem was being challenged. I lost confidence in my wearing and tried to cover my acne with makeup and looking at makeup tutorials on youtube.

You would have asked me why I didn’t search for home remedies for acne right? BECAUSE I TRIED AND THEY DON’T WORK. At least that’s for me.

If you read a blog that tells you acne can be cured by:

  1. drinking more water
  2. exercise
  3. sleep more

They are most likely trying to **smoke** you!

Well I wouldn’t say they are completely wrong, they are important but they are so duhhhhh. Even my mum can give me such advice and I don’t even have to read blog posts about that. And if acne is SO easily cured, there would be no dermatologist in the world.

So I decided to seek professional help at the national skin centre in Singapore after my friend, Jessica said she used to go there for treatment too. I could have saved some bucks and asked for a referral letter from the polyclinic but I seriously can’t stand myself looking like this in the mirror.

I called and booked an appointment for Dr OON Hwee Boon Hazel and immediately I could see a doctor the following week. After consultation, she prescribed me Benzac AC (benzoyl peroxide) water base gel 2.5% every morning after my skincare regime and a thin layer of Retacnyl every night before I sleep. Take note, you should only apply a thin layer.

The Benzac AC was a bit too harsh for me to apply everyday, so I applied it once every 2-3 days in the morning. These 2 creams did help my acne a little for me to see progress but the only bad thing is that on certain days after applying I would feel a stinging sensation which she already told me beforehand.

After 5 days, this was how I looked like. It was still red, but I had no more white heads. The pimple above my lip is also gone.

After 2 weeks, I went back for consultation and this time the doctor gave me Differin adapalene cream 0.1% which she said I can apply this in the day to replace Benzac AC if I find that harsh. This Differin cream was better I felt, there was no stinging sensation. And I also did a chemical peel session that would lighten up the acne scar.

With my skincare regime and applying the creams religiously everyday. This was how I cool like by mid May. With BB cream on, you could still see some red spots if you look closely. But it is definitely less red than before.

End of June

By end June, my acne is almost completely healed. No more spreading, no more bright red kind of spots on my face. What’s left is just the acne scars 😦 for squeezing them and not listening to mummy’s advice.

This is how I look like with totally no makeup on now.

img_1388

So I am hoping that time will slowly heal my acne scars and “holes”. I’ll update on my blog once I have found a brilliant solution!

Share with all your acne troubled friends by clicking share or give this post a like if you enjoyed reading my journey of conquering acne!

Share with me how you had been through your acne days and how you cured it as well!

If you have any idea on how to cure the “holes” left by acne, do comment in the box below too! 🙂

Veron.
