If drying your clothes is a pain, read this!

Hello earthlings,

I’m back again, this time to talk about what I am disappointed with the new HDBs.

I’ve reached the age where I would go for my friends’ house warming and I have many friends who purchased BTOs. I must say that the layout of the houses now have improved. There has been improvement in designs such as incorporating the dining area into the living room, which is something I really love because I like to watch the TV while eating my dinner 🙂 The service yard is also further away from the kitchen now so that laundry would not be affected by cooking fumes.  The common toilet has also been relocated from inside the kitchen to a location nearer to the bedrooms for the convenience of the children and also guests coming to the house.

However, what I am really disappointed is the design of the metal bars for the hanging of clothes and the service yard in the HDBs now. Many of my friends do not have a service yard, so they could only hang their clothes on the metal bars outside of their home. They were complaining to me that there were only 3 short metal bars which meant that the hanging of bed sheet was impossible.

Moreover, as they were lined horizontally and parallel to the wall, the clothes that were nearest to the wall did not receive as much sunlight as compared to the clothes that were hanged furthest from the wall, which means that clothes nearest to the wall would take the longest to dry. This problem is similar to the ones with the service yards as well, just that at least they have longer poles to hang more clothes.

While trying to help my newly-wed friends who have just moved into their new BTOs to solve this problem, I got to know about this brand- Steigen, where they came out with an  efficient solution to indoor drying conundrums.

Now homeowners can dry their clothes without any hassle of worrying that their clothes will not be dried in time for the next day or there is not enough space to dry the big items like bed linens and blanket covers.

I went to the company to check out and test out their products.

IMG_9456

Currently, they have 4 automated laundry system.

steigen1

My favourite is the Exalt+ Solar because as you can see from the specs, there is twice the number of fans and heater which shortens the average drying duration to just mere 1-2 hours!

FullSizeRender_4

I think that if you are really considering an indoor automated drying system, it is a MUST to choose one that has the heat technology, if not, the average drying duration is still going to be pretty long!

There is a built-in heating technology to drive heat throughout laundry to allow clothes to dry evenly.

steigen 3

It is also customizable to fit HDBs with smaller yards. It is elderly friendly as it is very easy to operate and they  no longer have to hang their clothes on a bamboo pole and stretch out of the window to dry the clothes under the sun.

FullSizeRender_5

The remote device is also battery-operated for easy control. It can also be mounted anywhere in the house, even on the fridge!

IMG_9466

It is also obstacle friendly as the system will come to a stop if they detect an obstacle (like hitting my head accidentally).

IMG_9457

Now you might think that how is this different from using a dryer? This Exalt + Solar operates with only 0.9 kWh of energy, which is more energy efficient. Not only that, it eliminates 99.9% of bacteria and prevents musty odour (which always happens to me when I have to dry my clothes indoor during rainy days).

steigen 2.png

I have summarized the benefits of the Exalt + Solar system:

  1. Safe and effortless lifting of the laundry with the touch of a button.
  2. Can lift up to 35kg of clothes.
  3. Energy saving and cost efficient (It uses 550-1100 Watts of electricity, which is only $3.60 per month!)
  4. High quality (using German designed motor with reinforced hanger rods)
  5. Average drying time: 1-2 hours only
  6. Eliminates 99.9% of bacteria and prevents musty odour.

Who needs this Exalt + Solar system?

  1. People who are economical and environmentally friendly as they is definitely better than a tumble dryer.
  2. Working adults who can only do their laundry at night
  3. Those with aging/ elderly parents or senior citizens who are face issues with lifting heavy laundry
  4. People with a large family as the system can handle heavy weight of the clothes.

For my readers, there is a $50 discount upon checkout if you apply the discount code “STEIGEN50”. I’m definitely going to introduce this to my friends to solve their clothes drying problems! This is a MUST-HAVES for those who are looking to renovate their homes as well, why not incorporate this as part of the interior design?

Taiwan Beauty products Yay or Nay

Hello there!

It’s May already and that means that almost half a year has gone. I would say that I have accomplished much in 2017. I learnt how to be stronger, better, and definitely to step out of my comfort zone to explore new things that I had never dreamt of. So many thoughts in my mind right now but I would leave that in my next #thought post.

Today I’m sharing with you some beauty products from Taiwan.

  1. Cleopatra VII Pilopator mask
  2. DD Cream by Userism
  3. Brush by LAMSAMYICK

Cleopatra VII Pilopator mask

I was intrigued by the packaging and just had the urge to google a little more about who this Cleopatra VII is. Apparently she was an ancient beauty and I had a little history lesson after learning about her rise and fall.

I tried them on in the morning before going out and I could feel that my skin is still soft at the end of the day.  So I would highly recommend this for women out there with really dry skin. So I would say Yay to this Cleopatra VII Pilopator mask from All Belle, Taiwan as it is more moisturizing than normal masks that I have tried and the moisture could last me an entire day out.

Brush by LAMSAMYICK

Some masks do not come with any mask sheets so I thank God for this mask brush that helps me to easily apply them onto my face without dirtying my hands. It is really soft and it is easily washable. I love the sleek design and how it is small and I can easily bring this on my travel. So yay to this product as well. But that being said, although I love everything about this, I think most of the masks I have purchased, maybe 8/10 of them comes with mask sheets nowadays, so I would question its practicality sometimes. So this product may be a nay to some if you are tight on budget?

DD Cream by Userism

Although this DD it is liquid form, it gives a matte finish. Hence, you don’t have to worry about having an oily glow on your face. For some of you who do not know, DD cream stands for Daily Defense cream. So DD cream also acts as a physical sunscreen. I like this DD cream because it is sweat resistant so it is very suitable for application during summer or in tropical weathers like Singapore. So Yay to this product!

Bubble tea can soothe the throat?

Hello there!

Today I am going to share with you my review for this bubble tea brand – Woobbee.

FullSizeRender (1)

Check out my video for the adventures that day!

Once in a while I would crave for sweet drinks and there is nothing more satisfying than finding a drink that not just quenches my thirst but satisfies my taste buds.

I heard about Woobbee from my friends and decided to drop by their outlet at Shaw Tower to try out the different drinks they offer with some of my closest friends.

I really like the idea how all their drinks are made using raw sugar, which is slightly healthier than the processed white sugar.

FullSizeRender (2).jpg

Their drinks ranges from flavoured teas, milk teas, yakult and yogurt drink, coffee and cocoa drinks to more unconventional drinks like Ginger Latte, Almond Milk Grass Jelly and Citron Honey Aloe.

The first drink that caught my eye when I was there was the Herbal Mint Milk Tea (Pei Pa Kao)! And of course, I ordered that while my friends tried their signature drinks like Fresh Milk Earl Grey, Wintermelon Grassjelly and Fresh Juice Apple Yakult.

I chose the Herbal Mint Milk Tea because I was really curious how the drink would taste like. Moreover, my throat wasn’t feeling too well that day so I was secretly hoping that this drink would ease the discomfort.

And WOW the taste was amazing. Hands down. I’m a person who loves mint, so I was totally won over by that drink!

That drink was really quite legit… it soothed my throat after a few hours.

Can I drink you every day?

For the “first time in forever”, I was pretty early (please don’t judge haha >.<)

Woobbee was a nice and cozy place for me to browse through magazines and chill while waiting for my friends to arrive!

The Garlic with Cheese Toast was the real deal man. My friends and I ordered like 3 or 4 plates of it. I’m serious-confession of a cheese lover.

8 signs you’re dating a guy that is very secure

img_2461

It’s past midnight and I am penning some thoughts about my experience of dating my boyfriend for the past 2 years. Entering a relationship is like entering a dense forest, it may leave you perplexed and lost or you can learn to find the peace and tranquillity that the nature offers…

How do you know that you are dating a guy that is very secured?

1. Freedom.

You get all the freedom and space if you are attached. He knows that this relationship is a commitment that both of you have made to one another and he trusts that the both of you will commit to that decision.

2. Trust

He trusts you and he is totally fine with you hanging out with your friends. Even guy friends because he knows that he can trust you and he knows that you know what you are doing.

3. He is independent and confident about his own self-image

He is not someone who would bug you for not texting him at all for the entire day because he understands that you must have been busy with stuff. He dresses well but does not ask for a second opinion from you because he is just confident about the choices he has made.

He knows where he wants to lead you in this relationship and you don’t have to worry whether his feeling for you will suddenly change and whether this relationship will still exist next year.

4. He is very busy carving out his career but doesn’t forget to support yours.

While he is chasing his dreams and working hard for the future with you, he does not forget about you. He is supportive of your visions and dreams and motivates you when you want to give up just because it is not easy. You are both committed to succeed together not just in your relationship but every other aspect of life.

5. He is self-motivated and he doesn’t really need you to be spur him own.

He reads and attends courses to hone his skills and takes pride in the saying that “learning doesn’t stop when you finish university”. You don’t have to motivate him to study or do something about his life because he KNOWS what he is doing.

6. His conversation with you is 70-80% serious stuff.

His conversation with you is either factual/ inspiring/ thought-provoking or motivating. He doesn’t waste time talking about how roses are sweet and violets are blue but motivating you to be better than the old you a year ago.

7. He loves to be a problem-solver.

He loves to help you and give you his opinion on any tricky situation you face.

8. He treats you with respect and not as a possession that he owns.

He doesn’t boss you around and control you like his possession but treats each moment spent with you as a blessing, even if it is just spending an hour train ride home with you, a short run in the morning on weekends or a meal.

Of course there are still times that my boyfriend and I argue over differing viewpoints, but I love how this quote always encourages me to count my blessings and treasure my loved ones, the people that God has specially placed in my life.

“Life is too short to argue and fight. Count your blessings, value your love ones and move on with your head held high.”

Share with me your thoughts and don’t forget to tag or comment about a friend who is just like that!

With Love,

Veron.
